Can I scatter my loved one’s ashes at a National Trust for Scotland place? We do always strive to share the exact location of benches and trees planted, so that supporters are able to easily visit the site and remember their loved one. However, due to the increase in requests for plaques, it has become necessary for us to restrict their use at our places. This was a very difficult decision for us to make, as we know how much a plaque can mean to our supporters. Why am I not able to place a plaque alongside a bench or tree planting? Please note that we are not able to send our Plant a Memory seeds outside the UK. We know Scotland’s nature, beauty and heritage is loved by many and we welcome donations from supporters all over the world. Can I support your work from outside the UK? If you would like your donation to go to a specific area of our work, please email or call 01 to discuss your wishes. Your donation made in memory of your loved one will be spent where the conservation need is greatest at the landscapes, buildings, collections and wildlife in our care. You can set up a monthly donation online or you can contact us on or 01 to set one up. We would be extremely grateful to receive a monthly gift made in memory of your loved one.
